The event is held under the patronage of the Central Bank of Bahrain on 31st October 2018, at the Four Seasons Hotel.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Ebrahim K. Ebrahim, TAKAUD’s Chief Government Business & Communications Officer and Chairman of the Conference, and Mr. Saeed Al Sammak, Vice Chairman of Al Hikma Society for the Retired.

It is worth mentioning that this event is the only conference for the pensions industry in the Arab region and has been established and fixed as an annual Bahraini event. The conference is expected to attract about 500 participants from the Gulf region and the rest of the Arab countries, including social security institutions, the private retirement sector, HR benefits specialists, asset management firms, insurance companies, financial services institutions, economic planning departments, audit firms and others interested in the social protection aspects.

In addition to speakers from government pension funds and international fund houses, the conference also attracts speakers from the World Bank, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), UK and Australian pension institutions and US experts in managing employee benefits.

His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa expressed at the meeting his thanks and appreciation to TAKAUD for their invitation and initiative to organise this annual conference in the Kingdom of Bahrain in order to raise public awareness on this vital subject, and to provide a platform for stakeholders and experts in this sector to discuss and exchange views on best practices and experiences applied in both the government and private pension systems. He hoped that this conference and its proceedings will contribute effectively to efforts to further develop the pension sector in line with the directives of the Kingdom’s wise leadership.

On his part, TAKAUD’s Chairman Mr. Khanachet has expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed for his continuous support and patronage to this event. He also wished that this annual regional gathering of the pension industry in the Kingdom of Bahrain will promote the establishment of a progressive pension sector, provide more ideas and solutions for both personal and corporate retirement schemes, and create more integrated and sustainable pension systems for the retirement of both citizens and residents of the region.

Participation in this conference is free for professionals in this sector and for staff of the concerned institutions and human resources leaders and specialists concerned with the employees’ compensation and benefits.
